travel north america united states of america alaska juneau mendenhall glacier

We had the good fortune to first visit the Mendenhall Glacier in 2012 and then again in 2017 with my son Ryan's family.
Mendenhall Glacier is a 13+ mile long glacier northeast of Juneau.
It can be reached by bus from the city and features a couple look out points on the near side of Lake Mendenhall.
There is a nice visitor's center here with parking, restrooms, and elevator access to the panorama view level.
A fairly long but easy walk will take you closer to the glacier and next to Nugget Falls.
